Manali Tour Package from Delhi

The Manali tour package from Delhi is a 3 nights and 4 days road trip with all three nights in Manali, in a chauffeur-driven car or Tempo Traveller from your Delhi address. There is no Shimla on this route, which leaves the middle two days free for Manali itself and Solang Valley. The drive is the long part: about 540 km on NH44 to Chandigarh, then NH205 and NH3 through Kiratpur, Bilaspur, Sundernagar, Mandi, the Aut tunnel and Kullu. Allow 12 to 14 hours each way, including two meal halts.

Manali sits at about 2,050 m at the head of the Kullu valley on the Beas. Its sights are compact: Hidimba Devi Temple in the deodar forest, Manu Temple and the cafes of Old Manali, Vashisht hot springs across the river, the Tibetan monastery near Mall Road, and Van Vihar. Solang Valley, 14 km north at about 2,500 m, is where the activities are: paragliding, zorbing and the ropeway in summer, skiing and snow play from December to February. Rohtang Pass (permit and local taxi) and the Atal Tunnel to Sissu are the options for going higher on Day 3.

Snow at Solang is reliable from December to February and often into March; April to June is the main season; July and August bring landslide risk on the Mandi to Kullu road and are best avoided; October and November are dry and clear. Because of the long drive, this itinerary suits travellers who accept two full days on the road in exchange for two full days in the valley.

Best Time to visit Manali

Manali works in every season except the monsoon peak. December to February give snow at Solang and cold, clear days in town; March to June bring warm days and the main tourist season; October and November have autumn colour and quiet roads. In July and August the drive is slow and the Beas runs high, so check the road status before booking.

How to reach Manali

Manali has no railway station, and the nearest airport at Bhuntar (about 50 km) has limited flights, so most visitors come by road. From Delhi it is about 540 km and 12 to 14 hours; a chauffeur-driven car or Tempo Traveller from Delhi lets you stop where you want and keeps the same vehicle for local sightseeing.
