Jim Corbett Wildlife Tour Overview

  • DURATION 01 Nights 02 Days
  • TYPE OF TRIPROAD TRIP
  • START CITY Delhi
  • DESTINATION CITYJim Corbett - Ramnagar

Jim Corbett National Park lies in the Terai foothills south of Nainital, and its gateway town, Ramnagar, is about 250 km from Delhi. The road goes through Moradabad and Kashipur and takes about 6 hours by car. This 1 night 2 days package uses that proximity: leave Delhi in the morning, sleep near the park, take a safari at first light and be back in Delhi the same evening.

The park is divided into safari zones. Bijrani, Dhela and Jhirna are entered from the Ramnagar side and are the usual choice for a short trip; Jhirna stays open through the year, while most other zones open from 15 November to 15 June. Dhikala, the largest zone, needs advance permits, involves a night inside the park and shuts for the monsoon. Corbett is known for tigers and elephants, but sightings are never guaranteed and the birdlife along the Kosi river is a reason in itself.

Safari permits are issued per vehicle, with a cap on the number of jeeps in each zone per shift, so the booking should be made once travel dates are firm. Our car takes you to Ramnagar and back; the safari itself is done in a registered park jeep with a naturalist.

Travel Itinerary
Day 1: Delhi - Ramnagar

Depart Delhi at about 7 am and take NH9 through Hapur and Moradabad, turning north at Kashipur for Ramnagar. There is a breakfast halt near Gajraula and, if the group prefers, lunch at Kashipur. Arrival at the resort along the Kosi river is usually around 1 to 2 pm. The afternoon is free; the Corbett Museum at Kaladhungi and the Garjia temple are short drives from Ramnagar. Overnight near the park.

Day 2: Corbett National Park jungle safari

The morning safari slot starts at about 6 am in winter and slightly earlier in summer, so the jeep collects you from the resort before dawn. The safari runs for about three to four hours in the booked zone with a naturalist. Return to the resort for a late breakfast, check out, and begin the drive back to Delhi around 11 am with a lunch halt at Moradabad. Arrival in Delhi by early evening.
