Mussoorie Dehradun Rishikesh Haridwar Tour Package

  • DURATION 03 Nights 04 Days
  • TYPE OF TRIP ROAD TRIP
  • START CITY Delhi
  • DESTINATION CITY Mussoorie - Dehradun - Rishikesh - Haridwar

This 4 day circuit links the two Ganga towns with the Doon valley and the ridge above it. Haridwar is about 220 km and 5 hours from Delhi on NH334 through Meerut, Muzaffarnagar and Roorkee; Rishikesh is 30 minutes further upstream; Dehradun is another hour, and Mussoorie sits 35 km above it at about 2,000 metres. The whole loop is under 600 km, so the days are short on driving and long on sightseeing.

Haridwar is where the Ganga leaves the hills, and the evening aarti at Har Ki Pauri draws a crowd every day of the year. Rishikesh has its own aarti at Triveni Ghat, the two suspension bridges Laxman Jhula and Ram Jhula, and the rafting stretch from Shivpuri that runs from September to June. Dehradun offers Sahastradhara and the Forest Research Institute; Mussoorie has the Mall, Gun Hill by ropeway, Kempty Falls and the Landour ridge.

October to March is the comfortable season for the plains towns; April to June is when Mussoorie is at its busiest as a summer escape. The order below runs low to high so that the mountain road is driven in daylight and the final descent to Delhi is a single run.

Travel Itinerary
Day 1: Delhi - Haridwar

Pick-up at about 6 am and drive north on NH334 through Meerut and Muzaffarnagar, with breakfast at a highway halt near Khatauli. Reach Haridwar by late morning, check in and take lunch. In the afternoon ride the ropeway to Mansa Devi and, time permitting, Chandi Devi. Be at Har Ki Pauri by 5.30 pm in winter or 6.30 pm in summer for the Ganga aarti, which begins at dusk. Day 2: Haridwar to Rishikesh

A 30 minute drive after breakfast brings you to Rishikesh. Walk across Ram Jhula to the ashrams on the east bank, continue to Laxman Jhula and the market behind it, and visit Parmarth Niketan. A rafting run from Shivpuri or Brahmpuri can be arranged in season and takes a half day. Neelkanth Mahadev, about 30 km into the hills, is an optional afternoon drive. The day ends with the aarti at Triveni Ghat. Overnight in Rishikesh.

Day 3: Rishikesh-Dehradun-Mussoorie

Leave by 8 am for Dehradun, about an hour away, and stop at Sahastradhara or the Forest Research Institute grounds. Climb to Mussoorie by the Mussoorie road, arriving for lunch. In the afternoon drive out to Kempty Falls, then return for the Mall Road and the Camel's Back Road walk. Gun Hill by ropeway is best towards sunset. Overnight in Mussoorie.

Day 4: Mussoorie to New Delhi

Check out after breakfast and descend through Dehradun to the highway. The drive to Delhi is about 290 km and 7 hours with a lunch halt near Roorkee or Muzaffarnagar. Drop at your address by evening.
