Lansdowne Jim Corbett Tour Package Overview

  • DURATION 02 Nights 03 Days
  • TYPE OF TRIP ROAD TRIP
  • START CITY Delhi
  • DESTINATION CITY Lansdowne - Jim Corbett

Lansdowne is a cantonment town in Pauri Garhwal at about 1,700 metres, about 250 km and 6 to 7 hours from Delhi via Meerut, Bijnor and Kotdwar. It has no bazaar strip and no ropeway; the attractions are the walks through oak and pine, the Garhwal Rifles regimental museum, Bhulla Tal and the viewpoint at Tip-n-Top. From Lansdowne a hill road runs east through Kotdwar to Ramnagar, so the two destinations sit naturally on one loop.

This 3 day Lansdowne Jim Corbett Tour Package pairs that quiet with a safari at Jim Corbett National Park. The Ramnagar side of the park opens the Bijrani, Jhirna and Dhela zones, and the safari is taken in a registered park jeep with a naturalist. It is one of the shorter circuits among our Uttarakhand tours and works well for a group in a single vehicle; a tempo traveller from Delhi is the usual choice for six or more.

The best months are October to April, when Lansdowne is clear and the Corbett zones are open. May and June are hot at Ramnagar but sightings tend to be better as animals gather at the waterholes.

In the afternoon walk to Bhulla Tal, drive up to Tip-n-Top for the late light and visit St. Mary's Church and the war memorial if open. Overnight in Lansdowne.
