Delhi is the one city where a chauffeur-driven car pays for itself daily: distances are long, parking is scarce, and the sights scatter from Mehrauli in the south to the walled city in the north. Car rental in Delhi with driver hands the routing problem to someone who solves it every day - whether that means a heritage loop around the UNESCO trio of Red Fort, Qutub Minar and Humayun's Tomb, a business day across Connaught Place and Aerocity, or late drops after a farmhouse wedding in Chhatarpur.
Most journeys through North India begin or end here - at IGI Airport's terminals, New Delhi railway station or Hazrat Nizamuddin - and our cars meet them all, with airport pickup and station transfers at any hour. Progressive Tour Travels has operated rental cars in Delhi for two decades, running AC and non-AC vehicles that are serviced on schedule and compliant with NCR emission norms. The same fleet covers local NCR duty across Gurugram, Noida, Faridabad and Ghaziabad, plus outstation departures on every spoke: NH48 toward Jaipur, the Yamuna Expressway to Agra, and NH44 north toward Chandigarh and the hills.
Some visitors want a half-day car for Chandni Chowk and India Gate; others need a week across Rajasthan. Both start the same way - an enquiry with dates and group size - and the fleet scales to match: 5-seater hatchbacks, AC sedans such as Etios, and 6-7 seater MUVs like the Innova. Drivers assigned to Delhi work know the city's rhythm: which flyovers choke after five, when Old Delhi is best entered, and how long the Akshardham security queue really takes.
Cab pricing in Delhi follows the trip's shape: local packages bill by hours and kilometres (typically 8 hr / 80 km), outstation round trips bill per day with a distance allowance, and one-way drops carry fixed route fares. Full-day outstation hire starts around 4000 INR. Whatever the format, the quote you approve is the amount you pay - tolls, fuel and driver allowance included.
For budget travel we keep compact sedans and hatchbacks on the road - the Swift Dzire in Delhi fleet does most of the airport work - at rates that beat surge-priced app cabs on any planned journey. Budget never means tired vehicles: each car is cleaned, serviced and driven by a verified chauffeur.
Bookings go through online or over the phone, and the confirmation lists the car, driver and fare breakdown. Beyond the economy tier the fleet runs to premium sedans, 7-Seater cars for family loads, and vehicles configured for outstation trips - weddings, seminars and corporate movements all draw on the same pool.
At the top end, luxury car rental in Delhi covers Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi sedans with chauffeurs trained for protocol work - airport receptions with name boards, wedding convoys, and board-level visits where the car itself is part of the impression.
The same premium cars serve leisure just as well: a day through Lutyens' Delhi, Humayun's Tomb and dinner near Khan Market reads very differently from the back seat of an E-Class.
Reserving takes minutes - a website enquiry, email, WhatsApp or one call - and packages are shaped around the client rather than a fixed menu.
Fares stay transparent, and these are the factors that move them:
Set the bundled quote against paying separately for taxis, waiting time and airport surcharges and the rental usually wins - which is why so much of our Delhi work is repeat business.
A first-timer's two days by car: day one takes the Mughal axis - Red Fort and Jama Masjid in the morning, lunch off Chandni Chowk, Humayun's Tomb and the dargah lanes of Nizamuddin in the afternoon, India Gate at dusk. Day two runs south: Qutub Minar early, the Mehrauli Archaeological Park next door, Lodhi Garden's tombs, then Hauz Khas village or Dilli Haat depending on whether the group wants cafes or crafts.
Delhi driving has rules of thumb the fleet lives by: the Ring Road moves against intuition at rush hour, Old Delhi admits cars but rewards parking at Parade Ground and walking in, Akshardham needs a phone-free plan since devices stay in the car, and airport runs after four in the afternoon must budget for the NH48 merge. None of this appears on a booking site - it shows up in whether your day actually keeps its schedule.
Museum Delhi fills the hot hours: the National Museum's Harappan galleries, the Crafts Museum's working artisans beside Pragati Maidan, Teen Murti's Nehru residence, and Agrasen ki Baoli's astonishing stepwell hiding behind the towers off Connaught Place. A car makes a five-stop culture day feasible where the metro would eat it in interchanges.
Eating across Delhi by car is a sport: breakfast parathas in the Chandni Chowk gali, Karim's by Jama Masjid at lunch, kathi rolls at Khan Market or Pandara Road curries by night - with the driver solving the one problem that defeats visitors, which is parking within walking range of each.
Delhi's seasons dictate the day's architecture: October to March is open-air Delhi - forts, gardens, long walks - while April to June flips the plan to dawn monuments and afternoon museums, and the monsoon gives Sunder Nursery and Lodhi Garden their deepest green. The car makes the flip trivial; the itinerary simply re-orders.
Car rental comes with different pricing as per car model and seating capacity. Compact 4 seater cars rental price is affordable while 7 seater Innova Crysta hire price is best to go with family.

Delhi rewards a car more than any Indian city: the sights sit thirty kilometres apart, the traffic punishes guesswork, and the driver's parking knowledge is half the day. Two days cover the Mughal axis in the north and the Sultanate south; a third adds the museums.
The Yamuna Expressway leaves Delhi's eastern edge for Agra in three hours, with Mathura and Vrindavan on the way, and the Agra-Lucknow Expressway carries the same car on to Lucknow, Ayodhya and Varanasi. Uttar Pradesh is one long booking east of the capital.
Delhi is where the Golden Triangle begins and ends. Our drivers run the Delhi-Agra-Jaipur loop weekly - Yamuna Expressway out, NH48 back - and know the Fatehpur Sikri halt, the Abhaneri stepwell and the Neemrana lunch stop by heart.
NH48 leaves Delhi for Rajasthan through Gurugram: Jaipur in five hours, Pushkar and Jodhpur the next day, Jaisalmer and Udaipur on a ten-day loop. Winter is the season, and a Delhi car with a Rajasthan-experienced driver stays with you throughout.
NH334 leaves north Delhi for Haridwar in five hours, and from there the car climbs to Rishikesh, Mussoorie and the Char Dham roadheads. On the eastern side, Corbett and Nainital take six to seven hours through Moradabad.
Himachal is a day north of Delhi on NH44 through Chandigarh: Shimla in eight hours, Manali in twelve to thirteen, Dharamshala in eleven. We assign hill-rated Innovas and drivers who carry chains from December.
Amritsar is about 450 km up NH44 from Delhi, an eight-hour run past Karnal's dhabas and Ludhiana's industry to the Golden Temple and the Wagah ceremony. Many guests take the Shatabdi one way and the car the other.
Delhi to Jammu is roughly 580 km on NH44, ten to twelve hours, with Katra and Vaishno Devi an hour beyond. Srinagar follows through the Chenani-Nashri tunnel on a second long day; most families fly one way and drive the other.
Every North India circuit radiates from Delhi: the Golden Triangle south and west, the Ganga north-east, Punjab and Himachal north. One car from IGI Airport to the final drop, with the driver carrying luggage and route knowledge from city to city.
