Yamunotri and Gangotri Yatra package

This pairing covers the two western shrines and the two river sources. From Haridwar the road goes to Barkot for Yamunotri, where the last 6 km from Janki Chatti is on foot or by pony, then over Radi Top to Uttarkashi and up the Bhagirathi to Gangotri, which the car reaches directly. Both valleys are narrow and the driving days are slow, so the Yamunotri Gangotri do dham tour package runs about 6 nights and 7 days from Delhi. It is the natural second half for pilgrims who did Kedarnath and Badrinath earlier.

Kedarnath and Badrinath Yatra Package

The standard Do Dham. Delhi to Haridwar on the first day, up the Alaknanda to Guptkashi on the second, the Kedarnath trek from Gaurikund on the third with a night at the temple, back down and across to Pipalkoti or Joshimath on the fourth, Badrinath on the fifth, and two days back to Haridwar and Delhi. Helicopter services from Phata, Sersi and Guptkashi shorten the Kedarnath day for those who cannot walk. The 5 nights 6 days version from Haridwar is the one most families book.

Gangotri and Badrinath Yatra Package

For travellers who want two shrines with no trekking at all. Gangotri is reached by road from Uttarkashi and Badrinath by road through Joshimath, so the only walking is around the temples and, optionally, to Bhim Pul at Mana. The two are far apart, with a long transfer from Uttarkashi through Tehri and Rudraprayag, and the trip is usually 3 nights 4 days from Haridwar or 5 to 6 days from Delhi.

Route notes for the Do Dham loop (Kedarnath and Badrinath)

• Delhi to Guptkashi about 420 km over two days via Haridwar and Rudraprayag; Guptkashi to Badrinath about 185 km; Badrinath back to Delhi about 520 km over two days.
• Private vehicles stop at Sonprayag for Kedarnath; the 5 km to Gaurikund is by shared jeep and the 16 km trek follows.
• Meals at highway restaurants near Muzaffarnagar and at Srinagar or Karnaprayag in the hills; at Kedarnath the choice is limited to simple lodges.
• Pilgrim registration is mandatory and checked at Haridwar and Sonprayag; keep a printout of each registration and photo ID to hand.
• Included: chauffeur-driven AC vehicle from Delhi, driver's charges, fuel, tolls, parking and green card. Not included: hotels, meals, ponies, palkis, helicopter tickets and temple fees.
